Toronto Hakka Conference
The Toronto Hakka Conference has been held every 4 years since 2000. It aims to bring together the Hakka diaspora and educate people about the Hakka cultures both in China and abroad. Of note, the organisers have been keen to promote greater awareness of Hakka culture amongst the younger generation.
There are some very interesting videos made by the THC, available by searching for 'Toronto Hakka Conference' on YouTube.
Next conference: Toronto 2016.

World Hakka Conference 世界客属恳亲大会
Less accessible to those without much knowledge of Chinese is the World Hakka Conference. Take note: you do not have to understand Chinese in order to attend - apparently it is more like 'cultural tourism' and NOT like a Western-style 'conference' with lectures, however I have never attended so cannot tell you anymore than that.
If you can read Chinese you may find their main website of interest (you can use Google Chrome browser to translate it).
You may also be interested in a page on their website highlighting the life of a Hakka-Mauritian 吳恆興 : 吴恒兴 N(2) Hên(2) Hin(1) . You can find the information by clicking here.
